Seven documented failures —
what went wrong and what was ignored

Each failure is documented from verified sources — official press releases, police reports, security chief's own public statements, and news reporting. These are not allegations — they are the public record.

Rooftop access flagged 2 days prior — completely ignored

September 8: TPUSA security chief Brian Harpole explicitly texted UVU Police Chief Adam Long flagging student roof access near the event site. Long acknowledged the message. No sweep of the Losee Center rooftop was conducted. The building remained accessible via public stairwells throughout the entire event. Harpole only made this public weeks later: "He's watching a bunch of men lose their careers and he's okay with it."

02

Crowd 5× larger than expected — no additional security ordered

UVU initially planned for 200, then 600, then 1,500–2,000. ~3,000 attended. Despite increasingly large estimates in the weeks prior, the security detail was not scaled. The event remained open, un-ticketed, with no perimeter control of any kind. The next TPUSA event — Utah State Sept. 30 — deployed drones, counter-snipers, and officers in tactical gear.

03

No metal detectors or bag checks at entry

The outdoor Fountain Courtyard event had zero security screening at any entry point. Multiple witnesses confirmed this. NBC News noted: "People said they were able to walk in without passing any sort of security checkpoint, even though scannable tickets were required."

04

No ambulance or EMS staged at the event

UVU planners did not believe emergency medical services would be necessary. No ambulance was staged. TPUSA told ABC two UVU EMTs were present — but no ambulance. Kirk was loaded into a personal SUV and driven to the hospital. A trained emergency response with a staged ambulance could have reduced critical response time.

05

Alleged shooter on campus nearly 4 hours — undetected

Robinson allegedly arrived at 8:29 a.m. and the shot was fired at 12:23 p.m. Nearly 4 hours on or near campus — allegedly changing clothes, moving through the building, ascending to the roof, getting into position — without being stopped, questioned, or identified by any law enforcement or security personnel.

06

No counter-sniper or elevated security position

The event was held in a sunken outdoor courtyard surrounded on all sides by campus buildings with rooftop access — an extremely vulnerable configuration for a high-profile political speaker. No counter-sniper teams or officers with elevated sightlines were deployed. This was remedied at the very next TPUSA event in Utah.

07

UVU Police Chief concealed the Sept. 8 rooftop warning

Despite being explicitly warned of the rooftop vulnerability two days before the assassination, Chief Adam Long did not disclose this communication in any public post-shooting statements. The warning only became public weeks later when Harpole went on The Shawn Ryan Show and read the text messages aloud on air.

The following are ALLEGED claims from Candace Owens and independent researchers — not verified facts. All labeled as alleged.

K9 failure (alleged): Bomb-sniffing dogs reportedly could not detect the abandoned rifle in the wooded area north of campus. Officers searching the same area later found it. A freshly fired rifle should produce a strong gunpowder scent detectable by trained dogs. Not officially confirmed or denied.

Camera removal (alleged): Per Candace Owens, footage analysis showed camera equipment behind Kirk's head was dismantled within ~5 minutes of the shooting. Not officially confirmed.

Hospital footage seized (alleged): Per Candace, FBI agents allegedly seized internal Timpanogos Hospital surveillance footage upon Kash Patel's arrival. Not officially confirmed or denied by the hospital or FBI.
